1972 Mercedes Benz 350SL LHD
This is a left hand drive vehicle (note that most South African cars are right hand drive) with an automatic gearbox.
The Mercedes Benz SL, Sport Light, was first launched in 1954 and caused a sensation with its Gullwing doors and motorsport derived technology. The third generation SL, the R 107, followed the Mercedes Benz SL tradition of front engine, rear wheel drive with a smooth, luxurious, and powerful package.
The R107 was the direct replacement for the W113 SL (Pagoda) and was in production from 1971 to 1989. The Mercedes Benz 350sl was the first model of the R107 and used the M116 3.5l V8 engine from the W108, W109 and W111 series which produced 192 BHP.
